Schema fix + competitor analysis
Open full recording in Fathom →
Summary
Cadence moves from weekly to bi-weekly at Sarah's request: she wants more time for homework between sessions. Walked through the Fort Collins parent page and the Loveland "considering a home addition" child page, both being rebuilt as templates the web designer will clone across every location / service combination. A schema audit surfaced missing-address errors on a couple of the LocalBusiness / HomeConstructionBusiness blocks. Worked live through the fix using the project-based GPT (schema prompt → rich-result test code-input). Then ran a competitive report against Elkstone, Home Evolution Kitchens, and Custom High Craft: Elkstone is executing the exact same hyper-local service-area strategy NoCo plans to use, but their per-location content is thin (no reviews, no FAQs, no local context). Identified a potential positioning gap: luxury / custom / design-build keywords are being underserved by all three competitors.

Highlights
- Elkstone uses the exact same hyper-local parent-child structure NoCo plans to use. They rank #1 but per-location content is weak.
- Win condition: clone the structure, execute content better (reviews, FAQs, property values, local context).
- Rule: each location page must differentiate 40-50% from the others or Google merges them.
- Swap one column in the parent template for a property-values / local-economy block to force uniqueness.
- Luxury + custom + design-build keywords look like an untapped vertical vs all three competitors.
- NoCo's strong video testimonials are buried on the Kitchen page. The Reviews page has none.
Decisions
- Move to bi-weekly meetings. Next session Feb 3, 2026.
- Lock the Fort Collins parent page and Loveland child page as templates before building anything else.
- Fix schema errors on parent / child templates first (missing-address is the blocker).
- Pursue luxury + custom + design-build as a second-wave keyword track, only after the transactional templates ship.
- Verify research sources on parent page link correctly (no broken citations).
